  • They are commonly called sponges.
  • They are generally marine.
  • They are asymmetrical.
  • They are primitive multicellular animal.

  • Water enters through minute pose called ostia in the body.
  • The water then enters the central cavity which is called spongocoel.
  • And then water exits from the body through osculum.
