Some characteristics of virus are as follows:-

1. Most of the viruses are submicroscopic.

2. All the viruses are having non cellular organisation.

3. They are usually smaller than 200nm.

4. They may have DNA in their body.

5. In some viruses RNA is also found.

6. There is no any virus found til now which is having both RNA & DNA.

7. Both inert & outside structure is found in crystalline form.

8. They have ability of protein synthesis as nucleic acid is found in them.

9. Ribosome plays important role in synthesis of protein in them.
