Explanation:

In the story The Price of Flowers, Mr. Gupta was an Indian who lived in London. One day he met Maggie in a restaurant. She was a poor girl. Her brother was a soldier and had gone to India. Mr. Gupta was a compassionate and kind person. He was good to everyone and did not differentiate between the rich and the poor. He went to see Maggie's mother when she was sick. When she asked him to look into the crystal ring and tell whether her son Frank was safe or not he told a lie because he wanted her to recover. Her mother believed it and became healthy once again. But later when Mr. Gupta came to know that Frank had died he felt sad.
