Mildred Keller is Helen Keller's sister. in the beginning, Helen regarded her younger sister as an intruder since she took her place in her mother's lap. Helen was jealous of her sister. once, Helen overturned the cradle in which Mildred was sleeping. it was her mom's timely invasion that saved Mildred. but sooner, they grew in each other's hearts . Mildred would always go with helen to gather persimmons. nutting was also one of their favorite.
Mildred was an alert and observant child. once, when they had lost their way back home in the fern quarry, Mildred pointed out a tressle which was a short cut to home. while going in the trussle, she saw a train approaching towards them and alerted her sister . this saved them from any mishap.
Mildred also helped Helen a lot ,She even when to Cambridge to accompany her . she used to describe her the sceneries around them when they went out.when Helen learned to speak she felt extremely delighted to speak to her sister.they both were perfect foil for each other and helped each other a lot.
