charitha sprinkled lime water on turmeric idol . it turned into red colour . guess and write the reasons?

Lime water means calcium hydroxide ---Ca(OH)2 , which is basic in nature .
Turmeric is a natural indicator which is used to test whether the given substance is acidic or basic.
Turmeric turns base to red colour.

Hence when charitha added lime water which is basic in nature on turmeric idol,it turned to red colour.
