Answer:

Computers are simply computers. Until "we, the people" activate it and use it, it cannot harm us. Its advantages for humanity are incalculable. We all hoped that things would stay this way forever, but the negative Internet use (made possible by computers) is getting out of hand. If we don't figure out how to handle it right away, we'll be dealing with social issues of cosmic proportions.

Explanation:

  • The first person to conceptualise modern computers was the British mathematician Charles Babbage. In 1833, he intended to produce a device he called Analytical. He intends to use this device's memory. But his efforts were unsuccessful because of a lack of funding. The modern computer we have today was created using his design, though. Because of this, Charles Babbage is referred to as the inventor of modern computers.
  • On a defence contract for the British Royal Navy, Babbage tried to build the first stored-program computer. To calculate the trig tables used in celestial navigation, the Royal Navy required a mechanical device. It was valuable to the Royal Navy because specific errors in the hand-calculated tables in use at the time had been linked to groups of wrecks.
  • Babbage's Analytical Engine could not have been constructed using mid-19th century manufacturing technology. Babbage never got as far as actually running any computations on the mill because of the excessive frictional forces at work inside.
  • At the age of 18, Lovelace met Babbage for the first time. The two frequently corresponded or met to discuss Babbage's invention. She added her own notes to an article about the Analytical Engine when she was asked to translate it. One of those notes turned out to be an algorithm for using the machine to calculate Bernoulli numbers, which are crucial in mathematics.
  • In a society that despised intelligent women, Ada Lovelace, a frustrated female mathematician, created the first programme for the Analytical Engine.
