Answer:

1 Candy = 0.4 $

1 Popcorn = 1.25 $

Step-by-step explanation:

Charlie: 4 candy + 2 popcorn = 4.10 Equation 1

Delaney : 3 candy + 5 popcorn = 7.45 Equation 2

Multiply Equation (1) by 5 and Equation (2) by 2 to make popcorn equal

20 Candy + 10 Popcorn = 20.50

6 Candy + 10 Popcorn = 14.90

Subract these Equation, we get

14 Candy = 5.6

1 Candy = 5.6 / 14

1 candy = 0.4 $

Substitute the price of Candy in Equation (1) , we get

4 × 0.4 + 2 Popcorn = 4.10

1.6 + 2 Popcorn = 4.10

2 Popcorn = 4.10 - 1.6

2 Popcorn = 2.5

1 Popcorn = 2.5 /2

1 Popcorn = 1.25 $
