Charlie's present age is 2/6th of the age of his father. He will be 1/2 of the age of his father in 5 years What is Charlie's father's present age?​

Let the Charlie's father's present age be x years.

then,

present age of Charlie= (2/6×x) years

= x/3 years.

After 5 years,

Age of Charlie= (x/3+5) years

and age of his father = (x+5) years

:. x/3+5 = 1/2(x+5)

x/3+ 5= x/2+ 5/2

x/3-x/2= 5/2-5

-x/6= -5/2

so, x= 15

hence Charlie father present age is 15 years.
