Charring of sugar

  • Charring of sugar is a chemical process where sugar is subjected to heat in the presence of H2SO4.
  • Due to which sugar undergo incomplete combustion with the removal of hydrogen and oxygen from the sugar solution resulting in a residue matter called as char and the process is called as charring of sugar
