kinetic energy =1/2mv^2

gravitational potenial energy=mgh

M(L/T)^2=ML^2T^-2. ((kinetic energy))

((potential energy))

they have same dimensions and also dimensions does not depend on magnitude so thats why they are equal as they both are enegies..
