Put the value of p in the R.H.S.:

 \frac{1}{2} (4 + 3)

 = \frac{1}{2} (7)

 =  \frac{7}{2}

But on L.H.S, it's written 7.

Hence, p=4 is not the solution of this equation.

Answer:

4 IS NOT THE VALUE FOR p

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN VALUE OF p = 4

SO,

SUBSTITUTING THE VALUE OF p IN THE SOLUTION,

WE GET,

1/2(p+3) =  7

SO,

FOR LHS,

1/2(p+3)

1/2(4+3)

(1/2)*7

7/2

3.5

FOR RHS,

7

SO,

AS,

LHS≠RHS

∴ 4 IS NOT THE VALUE FOR p
