QUESTION:-

check if x+4 is a factor of  x³+4x²–3x+10

EXPLANATION:-

To check  whether x+4 is factor of the given polynomial we will use remainder theorem,

So it stats that ,

If p(a)=0 then x+a is the factor of the polynomial

.So let;s use it

x+4=0

x=-4

Now let's find the value of p(-4)

p(-4)=x³+4x²–3x+10

p(-4)=(-4)³+4(-4)²–3(-4)+10

p(-4)=-64+64+12+10

p(-4)=12+10

p(-4)=22

Since p(-4)≠p(0) so x+4 is not factor of x³+4x²–3x+10
