therefore,if x-7=0

so, x=7 and 7-7=0

0=0

just substitute the value of x

x^2+4x-24

(7)^2+4(7)-24

49+28-24

49+28=77-24

if the answer would be 0 so it was a factor but this did not happened so,it is not a factor
