1- Pressure is defined as force per unit area. It is usually convenient to use pressure rather than force to describe the influences upon fluid behaviour. The standard unit for pressure is term Pascal, which is a Newton per square metre.

2- Pressure within a liquid depends only on the density of the liquid, acceleration due to gravity, the depth with him the liquid. The pressure exerted by such a static liquid increases linearly with increasing depth.

3-Since pessure is defined as force/area, a decrease in the area over which force is applied would result in an increase in pressure on this area. This is because moving your thumb over opening reduces the area over which force is applied . As a result pressure increases.
