The equation is dimensionally correct v0t +1/2at2 where symbols have usual meaning

Given:

An equation v0t +1/2at2  where a is acceleration

To Find:

Whether the symbols in this equation are correct or not

Solution:

We have ,

S = ut+\frac{1}{2} at^2

Checking the dimensions on both sides,

On Left hand side,

We have ,

= M^{0} L^1T^0

On Right hand side equation,

We have,

= LT^-1 [T] + LT^-2[T^2]

= [M^0L^1T^0] + [M^0L^1T^0]

= [M^0L^1T^0]

Comparing the L.H.S. and R.H.S.

Hence the formula is dimensionally correct.
