Solubility is the highest in ethanol, and rather poor in aqueous media. The solubility of pure Efavirenz in water (5.7 mg/mL) is significantly increased by the milling process (almost doubled in EFV_55 and EFV_56), and further improved (quad- rupled) by the addition of PVP (EFV_57). This additive, commonly used by the pharmaceutical industry, provides the largest increase in drug solubility in each solvent.
