Let p(x)=4x²+5x+1

p(-1/4)=4(-1/4)²+5(-1/4)+1

=4×1/16-5/4+1

=1/4-5/4+1

=1-5+4/4

=5-5/4

=0/4

=0

since, p(-1/4)=0

so,-1/4 is a zero of given polynomial p(x)
