Answer:

Verify whether 2 and 0 are zeroes of polynomial x^2 -2xx2−2x

TO VERIFY :

Whether 2 and 0 are zeroes of polynomial x^2 -2xx2−2x

SOLUTION :

Given polynomial is x^2 -2xx2−2x

Let p(x) be the given polynomial

p(x)=x^2 -2xp(x)=x2−2x

To verify that 2 and 0 are zeroes of polynomial p(x) we have to put x=2 and x=0 in p(x) and hence it must satisfies the polynomial.

⇒ p(x)=0 for x=2 and 0

Now put x=2 in p(x)

p(2)=2^2-2(2)p(2)=22−2(2)

=4-4

∴ p(2)=0

Now put x=0 in p(x)

p(0)=0^2-2(0)p(0)=02−2(0)

=0-0

∴ p(0)=0

∴ both 2 and 0 satisfies the given polynomial and hence they are zeroes of the given polynomial p(x)

The given polynomial p(x) is a quadratic polynomial. Hence, a quadratic polynomial has two zeroes.

Step-by-step explanation:

p(2)=2(2)²-4(2)

=8-8

=0

∴2 is the zero of the given equation

p(0)=2(0)²-4(0)

=0-0

=0

∴0 is also zero of the given equation
