Check whether (2x-1)is a factor of 2x^3-11x^2+17x-2

Here is ur answer

2x^3 - 11x^2 + 17x - 2

2x-1=0

x=1/2

2(1/2)^3 - 11(1/2)^2 + 17(1/2) - 2

= 2(1/8) - 11(1/4) + 17/2 - 2

= 1/4 - 11/4 + 17/2 - 2

= 1 - 11 + 34 - 8

---------------------

4

= 34 - 18

------------

4

= 16/4

= 4

therefore (2x-1) is not the factor.
