given \: \\ p(x) = {x}^{2} - 9 \\ 3 \: and \: - 3 \: will \: be \: the \: zeroes \: of \: p(x) \\ if \: p(3) = 0 \: and \: p( - 3) = 0 \\ verification \\ \: now \\ \: p(3) = {(3)}^{2} - 9 \\ p(3) = 9 - 9 = 0 \\ therefore \: p(3) = 0 \\ and \\ p( - 3) = {( - 3)}^{2} - 9 \\ p( - 3) = 9 - 9 = 0 \\ therefore \: p( - 3) = 0 \\ hence \: 3 \: and \: - 3 \: are \: zeroes \: of \: p(x)
hope it helps
