check whether 301 is a term of AP 5, 11 ,17 ,23 .......? please show the answer step by step

Given that :

a = 5

d = a2 - a1 = 11 - 5 = 6

an = a + ( n - 1 ) d

301 = 5 + ( n - 1 ) 6

301 - 5 = 6n - 6

296 + 6 = 6n

302 = 6n

n = 302 / 6

n = 50.33

But the value of n can't be in decimal

Hence 301 is not a term of this A.P

Here,


First term (A) = 5


Common difference (D) = 6


Tn = 301


a + (N-1) × D = 301

5 + (N-1) × 6 = 301

5 + 6N -6 = 301

6N = 301+1

6N = 302

N = 302/6 is not divisible by 6



So 301 isn't a term of the given AP.
