Given, -5 + 2√5 - √5
We shall take √5 common in the 2nd and 3rd terms and solve it
-5  + √5 ( 2 - 1 ) = -5 + √5
As we cannot add or subtract  rational and irrational numbers, we cannot simplify further.
As the number as a whole contains an irrational number, the whole number is an irrational number.

Hope my answer is helpful..

Answer:

Irrational number

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, -5 + 2√5 - √5

We shall take √5 common in the 2nd and 3rd terms and solve it

-5  + √5 ( 2 - 1 ) = -5 + √5

As we cannot add or subtract  rational and irrational numbers, we cannot simplify further.

As the number as a whole contains an irrational number, the whole number is an irrational number.
