 f(x) = {x}^{2} + 8x + 15

determinant of f(x)=8^2-4×1×15

=64-60

=4>0

f(x) has two roots

if 6 is a root of f(x) then f(6)=0

now, f(6)=(6^2)+8(6)+15

=36+48+15

= 95

∴f(6)≠0

∴6 is not a root of f(x)

hope this helps you
