Hi ,

____________________________
Factor Theorem:

Let p(x) be a polynomial of degree

one or more than 1 and a is a real

number. Then ,

i ) x- a , will be a factor of p( x ) if p( a ) = 0

________________________________

Let p( x ) = 3x^ 3 + 3x

The zero of 7 + 3x is ( - 7 / 3 ).

P( - 7 / 3 ) = 3 ( -7 / 3 )^3 + 3 ( - 7 / 3 )

= 3 × ( - 343 / 27 ) - 7

= - 343 / 9 - 7

= ( - 343 - 63 ) / 9

= - 406 / 9

Therefore ,

P( - 7 / 3 ) is not equals to zero .

7 + 3x is not a factor of p ( x ) .

I hope this helps you.
