  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

            Given data:- 4x-1=8.

            To find:- Value of the expression.

            Solution:-

  • Here, we will use the below following steps to find a solution using the transposition method:
  • Step 1:- we will Identify the variables and constants in the given simple equation.
  • Step 2:-then we Simplify the equation in LHS and RHS.
  • Step 3:- Transpose or shift the term on the other side to solve the equation further simplest.
  • Step 4:- Simplify the equation using arithmetic operation as required that is mentioned in rule 1 or rule 2 of linear equations.
  • Step 5:- Then the result will be the solution for the given linear equation. By using the transposition method. we get,

            4x-1=8\\\Rightarrow 4x=8+1\\\Rightarrow 4x=9\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{9}{4} .

      Hence we will get the value  x=\frac{9}{4} .

Given: The equation is  4x-1 = 8.

We have to check whether \frac{9}{5} is the solution of the above equation.

  • For this first, we will Identify the variables and constants in the given equation.
  • And then we Simplify the equation in LHS and RHS.
  • Then we will transpose or shift the term on the other side to solve the equation further simplest.
  • After that, we will Simplify the equation using arithmetic operation as required that is mentioned in the above rule of the linear equations.
  • Then the result will be the solution for the given linear equation.

Now by using the transposition method:

We have,

=> 4x-1 = 8

=>4x=8+1\\=>4x=9\\\\=>x=\frac{9}{4}

After solving the above equation we get the solution of the equation is\frac{9}{4}.

Hence, from the given statement that isx=\frac{9}{5}is not the solution of the given equation.
