We know that quadratic equations are of three types.

  1. \sf y = ax^2 + bx + c . Here, a, b , c are numbers.
  2. \sf y = (ax+c)(bx+d) Here, a, b , c, d are numbers.
  3. \sf y = a(x+b)^2 + c Here, a, b, c are numbers.

1st type of quadratic equation is known as standard quadratic equation.

2nd type of quadratic equation is known as Factored quadratic equation.

3rd type of quadratic equation is known as Vertex form of quadratic equation.

In the given Question, (x+1) doesn't matches with anyone form of quadratic equations completely.

Therefore, (x+1) is not a quadratic equation.
