The dimensional formula is [L]

Given:

h is height of liquid, S is surface tension, r is the radius, d is density of liquid and g is acceleration due to gravity.

To Find:

The dimensional formula for h = (2S cos(theta))/rdg

Solution:

From the given ,

we get,

h = \frac{2S costheta}{rdg}

LHS = [L]

Surface tension =S = F/I = \frac{MLT^-2}{L}

= [ MT^-2]

Radius = r = [ L]

g = [LT^-2]

RHS = \frac{2S costheta}{rdg} = [M^0L^1T^0]

=[L]

LHS = RHS

Hence, the dimensional formula for the question is [L]
