Step-by-step explanation:

Method 1:

\frac{p}{2} + 2 = 5p - 7

→ \frac{p + 4}{2}  = 5p - 7

→p + 4 = 2(5p - 7)

→p + 4 = 10p - 14

→4 + 14 = 10p - p

→18 = 9p

→9p = 18

→p =  \frac{18}{9}

→p = 2

hence, p = 2 is the solution of the above equation.

Method 2:

Solve LHS and RHS by putting p = 2 :-

L.H.S. = p/2 + 2 ( put p = 2 )

= 2/2 +2

= 1+2

= 3

Now, R.H.S. = 5p -7 ( put p = 2)

= 5×2 - 7

= 10-7

= 3

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

hence, p = 2 is the solution of the above equation.
