Solution :

3x²- 6x - 5 = 0

On comparing with ax² + bx + c = 0

Here a = 3, b = -6, c = -5

D = b² - 4ac

= (-6)²- 4 x 3 x -5

= 36 - 17

= 19

D= 19 > 0

Since D > 0

∴ The given quadratic equation have real roots.
