Let the smallest even number be 2m

So, 2m=4

=> m=4/2=2

so, m^2-1= 2^2-1 = 4-1=3

m^2+1= 2^2+1= 4+1=5

Hence, 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm is a Pythagorean triplet.

Hope it helps....^^
