7

Given -

7x - 2 = 11

x = 2

To find -

If the given value of x is the solution if the above expression or not.

Solution -

→ 7x - 2 = 11

→ 7(2) - 2 = 11

→ 14 - 2 = 11

→ 12 ≠ 11

Procedure -

• This question is from the chapter polynomials.

• In this question we have to tell if the given that value of x that is 2 is either the solution of the above expression or not.

• For that we will put 2 in place of and then we will multiply 7 with 2 as any constant or variable is in the bracket and one constant or variable is outside that bracket we have to multiply it.

• And then the product will be 14 then we will subract it by 2. And their answer is 12 which is not equal to 11.

\therefore 2 is not the solution of the above expression.

Check whether the value given in the bracket is a solution to the given equation or not 7x - 2 = 11

\large{\boxed{\sf{Let's \: understand \: the \: concept \: 1^{st}}}}

  • The question state that the equation 7x-2 = 11. The value of x is given 2. If have to tell that is 2 is the correct value of x or not.

\large{\boxed{\sf{How \: to \: this \: question}}}

  • The question state that the equation 7x-2 = 11. The value of x is given 2. If have to tell that is 2 is the correct value of x or not.

  • Firstly we have to put 2 in the place of x then we have to multiply 7 by 2 now we have to write -2 then we have to put equal to sign after that nd write 11 {Given}

  • Now we put the result i.e., 14 { product of 7 by 2 } now we have to write -2 then we have to put equal to sign after that nd write 11 {Given}.

  • After that subtract 14 by 2 then we have to put equal to sign after that nd write 11 {Given}.

  • Now we put the result i.e., 12 then we have to put equal to sign after that nd write 11 {Given}.

  • Now we get 12 = 11

  • Nd we know that 12 is never equal to 11.

  • 12 ≠ 11

  • Hence, 2 is not correct value of x.

\large{\boxed{\sf{Let's \: carry \: on \: properly}}}

\large{\boxed{\sf{Given \: that}}}

  • Value of x = 2

  • Given equation = 7x-2 = 11

\large{\boxed{\sf{To \: find}}}

  • The value of x that is given (2) is the correct the correct value or not.

\large{\boxed{\sf{Solution}}}

  • No, the given value of x = 2 is not the correct value.

\large{\boxed{\sf{Full \: solution}}}

\mapsto 7x-2 = 11

\mapsto 7(2) - 2 = 11

\mapsto 14 - 2 = 11

\mapsto 12 ≠ 11

Hence, 2 is not the correct value of x.
