Answer:

(x+1) is not the factor of the concerned polynomial

Step-by-step explanation:

let us consider that (x+1) is the factor of 6x^3 + 3x^2

therefore, x = (-1)

p(x) = 6x^3 + 3x^2

therefore,

p(-1) = 6(-1)^3 + 3(-1)^2

= 6*(-1) + 3*1 [because (-1) multiplied odd times results in -1 and (-1)                  multiplied even times results in +1]

      = -6 + 3

= -3 [ if (x+1) would have been the factor then 6x^3 + 3x^2 should have been equal to 0, but here it is equal to -3, which is not equal to 0, therefore (x+1) is not the factor of the concerned polynomial]

hope it helps!!
