Step-by-step explanation:

Dividend:

 {x}^{4} + 2 {x}^{5} + 2 {x}^{2} + x + 1

Divisor: x + 1

So if we insert -1 inplace of x and get 0 (x +1) will be a factor.

f( - 1) \\ = {( - 1)}^{4} + 2 \times {( - 1)}^{5} + 2 {( - 1)}^{2} - 1 + 1 \\ = 1 - 2 + 2 - 1 + 1 \\ = 1

Because f(-1)=1

Therefore (x+1) is not a factor.

Hope it helps you mate.
