Yeah it comes to zero as you substitute the value of y =1
Y^3 = 1
-5Y^2 = -5
+7Y= 7
-3 = -3
1-5+7-3 = 0

Anonymous: my dear we have to substitute the value as 1 not -1 .....plzz edit that

y³-5y²+7y-3

→ y = 1

(1)³-5(1)²+7(1)-3

= 1-5(1)+7-3

= 1-5+7-3

= 8-8

= 0

So,y=1 is a zero of the given polynomial.

Hope it helps
