Answer:

x - 2y = 4

If x = √2 and y = 4√2,

satisfies this equation then it is the solution of this equation....

√2 - 8√2 = -7√2 which is not equal to 4....

Thus, it is not the solution of this equation...

                  (or)

x-2y = 4

put X = √2 and y = 4√2

√2- 2*4√2= √2 -8√2 = √2 (1-8) = -7√2 which is not equal to 4

so these are not a solution of this equation

Answer:

(4,0) is its solution.

Explanation:

  • (4,0)

x – 2y = 4

Put x = 4 and y = 0

=> 4 – 2 × 0 = 4

4 = 4

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence (4,0) is its solution.

  • (√2, 4√2)

x – 2y = 4

Put x = √2, y = 4√2

√2 – 2(4√2) = 4

√2 – 8√2 = 4

–7√2 ≄4

Hence (2, 47) is not its solution.
