 =  > 5(2) + 7 = 3

 =  > 10 + 17 = 3

 =  > 17 = 3

Therefore, x=2 is not a solution of 5x+7=3.

Hi in order to check if x=2 is a solution or not we need to substitute the value of 2 in that equation . On substituting we get,
5(2)+7= 10+7=17 which is not equal to the three that is given on the RHS of the question. So we can conclude that x=2 is not a solution. Hope it helps..
