Given :-

  • The length of the poster was twice of the breadth. The perimeter of the poster was 132 cm.

To find :-

  • Area of poster.

Solution :-

  • Perimeter of poster = 132 cm

As we know that

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where " l " is length and " b " is breadth of rectangle.

Let the breadth be x then length be 2x

  • According to question

→ Perimeter of poster = 132 cm

→ 2(l + b) = 132

→ 2(2x + x) = 132

→ 3x = 132/2

→ 3x = 66

→ x = 66/3

→ x = 22 cm

Hence,

  • Breadth of poster = x = 22cm

  • Length of poster = 2x = 44cm

Now,

  • Area of poster

→ length × breadth

→ l × b

→ 44 × 22

→ 968 cm²

Therefore,

  • Area of poster is 968 cm²

Answer:

Question-

Cheko had to paint a poster.

The length of the poster was twice of the breadth.

The perimeter of the poster was 132 cm.

Find the area of the poster.

Given-

Breadth= x

Length= 2x

Perimeter = 132 cm.

To find-

Dimensions of the poster.

Area of the poster.

Solution-

Let's first find the dimensions through the given perimeter.

\color{black}\boxed{\colorbox{saffron}{Perimeter-2(length+breadth) }}

132 = 2(2x + x) \\  \\  = 132 = 2 \times 3x \\  \\  = 132 = 6x \\  \\  =  \frac{132}{6}  = x \\  \\  = 22 = x

So,

Breadth =22cm

Length = 22×2= 44cm

Now, let's find the area with the given dimensions.

\color{black}\boxed{\colorbox{saffron}{Area - length×breadth}}

44 \times 22 \\  \\  =  {968cm}^{2}

Required Answer-

\rightarrow Length= 44cm

\rightarrow Breadth= 22cm

\rightarrow Area= {968cm}^{2}
