Hey

Here is the answer.

∆ signifies a significant difference between initial and final values of any quantity be it concentration [c] or time t .

When we need to calculate a considerable difference of the concentration or time (or) we are given a considerable change in initial and final values of the concentration and time then we use the ratio of ∆[c] and ∆t.

It signifies the rate of change of the concentration with respect to time in that particular time interval.

WHEREAS

d or differential change is the change when the change is taking place instantaneously or within a short range of time or infinitesimally small time such as t--> 0.

This d[c]/dt denotes the instantaneous rate of concentration change for the kinematic process.

Hope it helps.
