1)Acids change the colour of litmus from blue
to red.
2)They convert the colour of Methyl Orange from Orange/Yellow to Pink.
3)Acids turn the pink colour of Phenolphthalein to colourless.
4)Acids can conduct electricity.


Chemical properties of bases:)

1)Bases change the colour of litmus from red to blue.
2)They are bitter in taste.
3)Bases lose their basicity when mixed with acids.
4)Bases react with acids to form salt and water. This process is called Neutralisation Reaction

more hydrogen atoms replaceable partially or completely by metal or positive radical producing salt.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF ACID
Change the colour of blue litmus solution to red.
Give red colour with methyl orange.
Give colourless solution with phenolphthalein.
No reaction with red litmus solution.

BASE: Bases are substances which have bitter taste, soapy touch red litmus solution to blue.

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BASES
No reaction with blue litmus solution
Give yellow colour with methyl orange
Give pink colour with phenolphthalein.
