\huge\textbf{Chemical Properties of Water :}

1) Amphoteric Nature :- Act as acid as well as base.

H2S + H2O <----> H3O + HS

2) Redox Reaction :- Water undergone Oxidation reaction.

* As an oxidising agent.

C + H2O -----> CO + H2

* As an reducing agent.

2F2 + 2H2O ------> 4H + 4F + O2

3) Hydrolysis Reaction :- Due to high dielectric constant, it has a very strong hydrating tendency. It dissolve many ionic compounds.

Ex :- P4O10 + 6H2O ----> 4H3PO4

4) Hydrate formation :- The water in combination with ionic salts us known as water of crystallisation and salts are called hydrated salts or hydrates.
