When ammonium hydroxide is added to solution of ferric chloride then it results in the formation of ferric hydroxide and ammonium chloride.

The chemical reaction equation for this reaction will be as follows.

6NH_{4}OH + 2FeCl_{3} \rightarrow 2Fe(OH)_{3} + 6NH_{4}Cl6NH

4

OH+2FeCl

3

→2Fe(OH)

3

+6NH

4

Cl

This reaction is a double displacement reaction as there is exchange in ions of two different compounds.
