Chemical Reactions are essential to the survival of human body. Elaborate using three different examples. Write at least three paragraphs with at least five sentences
Answers
Answer:
Yes, chemical reactions are essential for the survival of human body as it carries out different functions. For example :-
Digestion:
Our body can't survive if it doesn't gets sufficient nutrients as it is important for development of our body and it carries out different types of functions. Our body gets all these nutrients from food. But food need to be separated from it's useful(nutrients) and non useful parts. To absorb the nutrients from our body, it goes to our stomach where there is Hydro chloride acid, it reacts with the food and separates all the nutrients and then supplies them to the body
Respiration:
Respiration is the chemical process by which organic compounds release energy. The compounds change into different ones by exergonic reactions.
During the process of respiration, glucose breaks down into carbon dioxide and water releasing 38 ATP if energy. Respiration, in human body usually occurs aerobically which means in the presence of oxygen. But exceptionally, during excess workout body performs respiration anaerobically to fulfill the immense need of oxygen in our body.
Anaerobic respiration:
Anaerobic respiration does not need oxygen (unlike aerobic respiration). It is the release of a relatively small amount of energy in cells by the breakdown of food substances in the absence of oxygen in the stomach.
Anaerobic respiration takes place in the cell cytoplasm and produces lactic acid. The chemical equation is C6H12O6 -> 2C3H6O3 (Glucose -> Lactic acid).
