Chemical test to distinguish between bromoethane and bromobenzene

Bromobenzene when added warm h2o gives phenol which in turn when added hno3and h2so4 gives yellow colour of picric acid. Where as bromoethane with warm h2o gives ethanol and on further addition of hno3 and h2so4 doesn't give yellow colour.
