We will separate this mixture in steps.

Ammonium Chloride sublimes on heating.

Therefore we first heat the mixture to remove Ammonium chlorideChloride.

We heat the mixture covered with a lid containing ice cold water.

Ammonium chloride Sublimes and form crystals on cooling on the lid.

We then add water to the remaining mixture of sand and common salt.

Common salt dissolves to form salt solution.

We then filter out the insoluble sand.

We remain with salt solution.

We then evaporate the solution to obtain Sodium Chloride crystals.
