Q. Tabulate the difference in characteristics of states of matter in terms of:

rigidity, compressibility, shape, kinetic energy, density ?

Explanation:

Rigidity: I) solids are very rigid

ii) liquids are not rigid they are fluids

iii) gases are also fluids

Compressibility: I) solids are incompressible but in some cases it is foreg. sponge

ii) liquids are hard to compress

iii) gases can be compressed very easily.

shape: i) solids have fixed shape

ii) liquids donot have fixed shape but volume

iii) gases donot have fixed shape nor volume

kinetic energy: solids have least kinetic energy

liquids have intermediate kinetic energy.

gases have most kinetic energy.

density I) solids have high density

ii) liquid have comparatively high density than gases

iii) gases have very low density
