We can observe different colours while burning a candle where the colours are blue, yellow and black.

These different colours of the flame are observed due to different levels of combustion that takes place while burning the candle.

1) The blue coloured zone of the flame is seen in the outermost part of the flame which depicts complete combustion. It is the hottest part of the flame.

2) The yellow coloured zone of the flame is the middle zone where partial combustion takes place. It is the moderately hot zone of the flame.

3) The black coloured zone of the flame is the innermost zone of the unburnt wax vapours. It is the least hot zone of the flame.
