Given : Chen completed the division problem

To Find :  Chen’s error?

He included a 4 in the quotient, which does not belong.

He multiplied the dividend by 100 instead of 10.

He should have multiplied both numbers by 10.

He did not subtract correctly in one of the steps.

Solution:

While dividing 192.6   by 0.9

he changed 0.9 to  9  by multiplying with 10  but he did not make any change in 192.6     as it should have been 192.6 * 10  = 1926

same as 0.9 * 10  = 9

Then Quotient would have been 214  instead of 21.4

Hence Correct answer is

He should have multiplied both numbers by 10
