Cash/Bank A/c---------Dr
To Ram A/c

( Being , cheque received from Ram)

Remember :-

When a cheque received , is not deposits at the same day, it is taken in the cash account, and when it deposits in the bank then a contra entry passed through the books...i hope it hepls you
