Dear Akash,
How are you? Hope you fared well in your exams. My exams have ended and I am planning to visit you soon.
In your previous letter, you questioned me about my favourite game and its rules.
Even though I know how to play, I was not fully aware of the standard rules of the game.
So I went through the web and found an informative piece about my favourite game, chess.
I am writing this letter to share my acquired knowledge about this game.
Chess is, without doubt, a mind game and requires full concentration of the player.
Chess is a board game and can be played only by two players at one time.
It is believed to have originated in our country, India, sometime before the 7th century.
When we play a game of chess, the chess board is laid out and the first step is to put the different pieces of the board in its right place.
The pawns are always placed in the second row of the board from the two sides.
The most powerful piece in the chess board is the queen.
She can move in any direction and protects the king from being harmed.
If the king is killed, the game ends.
Playing chess has its own advantages.
It makes our mind sharp and helps us concentrate better.
Hope to play with you soon.
Also, convey my warm wishes and regards to your parents.
See you soon.
Yours loving
Ankit
