Chiapa means the place where the chia sage grows.Chiapas' is the site of some of the region most spectacular Mayan ruins at Bomanpack where intricate murals are preserved. the two main reasons to maintain effort to preserve Chiapas nature are:

1. Chiapas ranks the second among the Mexican states in the production of cacao which is the product that is used to make chocolate and it is also responsible for the 60 percent total of Mexico total output.  Annual milk production in Chiapas' totals about 180 million liters.

2. Chiapas' nature had a small portion of inhabitants by the Mayan Indians, the Mayan culture flourished throughout mesoamerica.  Skilled weavers and temple builders they left behind a wealth of archeology treasures for later generation to discover and admire. It is a home of thousands of animals and plants some of which can not be found anywhere else in the whole world.
